A standard behavioural consultation takes about 2 hours. Before the visit we will ask you to fill out a questionnaire about your pet and their behaviour.
Prior to the visit we require you pet to have been examined by your vet and to have had a blood profile taken, including thyroid function and a urine analysis. We are happy to speak to your vet as to when your pet was last examined and if they already have the information we require. Many behavioural problems are actually caused by medical issues. Treating an underlying disease may resolve behavioural problems. As a simple example cats who urinate on the carpet may have a bladder infection.
After the consultation you will be provided with a full written report, including the strategies and medications we may have recommended during the consultation.
Subsequent consultation takes two forms. A behavioural review is generally a 1-hour consultation, whilst a medication review may only require a standard consultation. Your report will contain information about what follow up we recommend for your pet.
